Flaky Pie Pastry

Ingredients 2 2⁄3 cup flour 2 Tbsp sugar ½ tsp salt ¾ cup cold butter, cut in ½ inch square pieces ¼ cup vegetable shortening, cut in 4 pieces 5-6 Tbsp ice water Instructions Combine flour, sugar, and salt. Using a pastry blender, cut in the butter and shortening until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Drizzle 5 Tbsp ice water over the top, tossing the mixture with a fork until the dough just comes together.

Key Lime Pie

Graham Cracker Crust 1 pkg (11 full sheets) graham crackers, finely crushed 2 ½ Tbsp sugar 5 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and sugar. Add the melted butter and stir until the crumbs are evenly moistened. Using your fingertips, press the crumb mixture evenly over the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie plate. Bake for 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees, until the edges are light golden brown.
