Jeff's Turkey Leg Brine
Soak that bird.
Ingredients
- 1 gallon water
- 1 cup kosher salt
- 3/4 cup lightly packed light brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp garlic powder
- 2 Tbsp onion powder
- 2 Tbsp red pepper flakes
- 2 Tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 2 Tbsp Tabasco sauce
- 1 Tbsp poultry seasoning
Instructions
- Bring water in large stockpot on medium-high heat
- Add the salt and stir until it is dissolved completely and the water is clear
- Add remaining ingredients and bring water to slow boil.
- Let brine simmer for 15 minutes
- Remove from heat and set aside to cool to room temperature
- Once cooled, refrigerate and cool to at least 39°F
