Soft Bread Bowls
Custom bowls for the soup of your choice.
Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 Cups flour
- 1/2 Cup warm water
- 1 Cup milk
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 1 Tbsp yeast
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions
- Place 2 Cups flour into the bottom of your stand mix-er. Add sugar and the salt. Stir it to combine.
- Pour milk and water into one measuring cup. Heat it in the microwave for 1 minute, or until bubbly and hot.
- Carefully put the butter into the hot liquid and let it melt a bit.
- Pour the buttery milk into your mixer. Turn the mixer on to low and let it mix for about 30 seconds. Add yeast and the remaining 2 Cups of flour.
- Mix dough for 5 minutes.
- Spray a large cookie sheet with cooking spray and set the dough on it. Use a large knife to cut the dough into 6 equal parts. Let the dough rest for 5 minutes.
- Shape each piece into a ball.
- Whisk the egg in a small bowl and spread over the tops of each dough ball.
- Place the pan in a 170 degree oven and let the dough rise until doubled in size (about 15-25 minutes).
- Turn your oven up to 350 degrees (leave the pan in the oven while the temperature increases). Bake for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let cool for about 10 minutes.
