Pizza Dough

Summary

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ C warm water
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp yeast
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3-4 ½ C flour, divided

Instructions

  1. Combine water, sugar, and yeast in mixer bowl. Let stand for about 10 minutes, or until yeast is bubbly.
  2. Add salt and stir. Add 1 ½ C flour and mix well. Gradually add more flour until dough starts to pull away from the side of the bowl.
  3. Spray a glass or metal bowl and place dough inside. Cover and let rise for 45 minutes, or until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat oven to 425. Split dough in two and roll out for pizzas (use cornmeal so dough doesn’t stick to counter).
  5. Prick several holes in the dough with a fork. Brush crust with olive oil. Sprinkle with garlic salt.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove from oven. Spread desired sauce and toppings on the crust.
  7. Return pizza to oven and bake for 10-12 more minutes, or until cheese is melted and crust is golden brown. Allow pizza to cool for about 5 minutes before cutting and serving.
