Pizza Dough
Summary
Ingredients
- 1 ½ C warm water
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp yeast
- ½ tsp salt
- 3-4 ½ C flour, divided
Instructions
- Combine water, sugar, and yeast in mixer bowl. Let stand for about 10 minutes, or until yeast is bubbly.
- Add salt and stir. Add 1 ½ C flour and mix well. Gradually add more flour until dough starts to pull away from the side of the bowl.
- Spray a glass or metal bowl and place dough inside. Cover and let rise for 45 minutes, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 425. Split dough in two and roll out for pizzas (use cornmeal so dough doesn’t stick to counter).
- Prick several holes in the dough with a fork. Brush crust with olive oil. Sprinkle with garlic salt.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove from oven. Spread desired sauce and toppings on the crust.
- Return pizza to oven and bake for 10-12 more minutes, or until cheese is melted and crust is golden brown. Allow pizza to cool for about 5 minutes before cutting and serving.
