Italian Sausage Stuffing

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 5-6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 grated Granny Smith apple
  • 1 (16 oz) pkg stuffing or dressing mix
  • 2 ½ C chicken broth
  • ½ C dried cranberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Spray a 9x13 baking dish and set aside.
  2. Brown sausage. Ass onion, celery, and garlic and saute. As onion turns translucent, stir in apple.
  3. Sprinkle dressing mix over sausage mixture and add chicken broth. Continue stirring as dressing mix absorbs the liquid. Add cranberries. When the liquid has been incorporated and the mixture is fully combined, transfer to the prepared pan. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 10 minutes.

*Can prepare 1-2 days ahead of time. Just cover and refrigerate pan and then bake directly from fridge.
