Fluffy Dinner Rolls

Summary

Ingredients

  • ¾ C milk
  • 4 Tbsp butter
  • ¾ C hot water
  • 4 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4-4 ½ C flour
  • 1 heaping Tbsp yeast

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 170 degrees.
  2. Pour milk and butter into glass measuring cup and heat in microwave for 1 ½ minutes.
  3. Pour milk/butter mixture and hot water into mixer. Add yeast and allow to activate.
  4. Add sugar, salt, and 2 C flour and let it mix for about 1 minute. While mixer is going, add 1 C flour at a time until the dough comes away from the side of the bowl. Mix for about 5 minutes.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap and allow to rest for 5 minutes.
  6. Coat the inside of a 9x13 pan with butter. Cut dough into 12 pieces, gently roll them into balls, and place in pan.
  7. Put pan in warm oven and allow rolls to rise for about 20 minutes, or until they have risen about 1 inch above the pan.
  8. Turn oven up to 350 degrees and bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Brush with softened butter and serve warm.
