Lanche Misto

Traditional Portuguese sandwich. Great for a meal or a snack. Sweet bread with a savory filling.

Dough Ingredients

  • 13 g fresh baker’s yeast
  • 200 g of warm milk
  • 500 g of flour
  • 100 g sugar
  • 10 g of fine salt
  • 2 egg
  • 50 g of melted butter

Filling Ingredients

  • Ham
  • Cheese
  • Bacon
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Place eggs in bowl and beat a bit
  2. Add milk, butter, sugar, yeast
  3. Mix well
  4. Mix in half the flour
  5. Add salt
  6. Mix in rest of flour, using spoon then hands
  7. Sprinkle flour on countertop and knead dough 10-15 minutes until dough doesn’t stick
  8. Put a little flour in bowl. Put dough in bowl on top of flour. Put a little flour on dough. Cover wit towel
  9. Put flour on counter top and roll out dough into rectangle
  10. Lay cheese on half.
  11. Lay ham on top of cheese
  12. Lay bacon on top of ham
  13. Lay cheese on top of bacon
  14. Fold over top
  15. Slice into individuals
  16. Let raise until doubles (40 min)
  17. Brush top with beaten egg, plus some water
  18. Cook 375 until golden (~20 min)
