Grandma Wood's Pie Crust

Pie crust for pies.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • ¼ cup cold water (approximately)

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, salt, and sugar.
  2. Cut in shortening with pastry cutter, leaving some pea sized chunks of grease.
  3. Sprinkle water over mixture and stir with a fork until it forms a soft ball.
  4. Divide into 2 balls and refrigerate while you prepare filling (or at least a ½ hour).
